Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about volunteering with Chicago Cares at the Lincoln Park Community Shelter? Well guess what?! After that awesome experience Chicago Cares reached out to see if I’d like to join them on Saturday June 24th, for a massive day of volunteering, bringing together their network of both volunteers and organizations in need of helpers to build a community effort to improve the lives of fellow Chicagoans.
What I love about Chicago Cares is that they are a non-profit organization with the mission of mobilizing volunteers to build a stronger, more unified Chicago. In their 26 year history, they’ve helped over half a million Chicagoans find an easy, fun and impactful way to volunteer. They offer 200 volunteer opportunities every month that allow volunteers to roll up their sleeves and do more good for the city we all love and this event is a culmination of all that.
