10 Holiday Gift Ideas That Give Back

I’ve mentioned in multiple posts that it’s now easier and more imperative than ever to shop smart, supporting businesses that either give back, empower a minority group, are extremely transparent about their carbon footprint, etc. So I’ve come up with a quick guide of gifts that I love for the holidays that you can also feel good about giving.

For the littlest littles in your life, these Cuddle & Kind stuffed animals (which I’m planning on getting these for all of my nieces and nephews!) are great for any kiddos you know or even future babes! These sweet dolls leave you feeling all cuddly inside because for each doll purchased one is donated to a kid in need.

For kiddos who need a new travel or school backpack checks out these cute ones made by State, a B Corp doing lots of good. Not only do they donate a backpack full of essentials to kids in need for each one purchased but they go beyond that by holding events where volunteers can help empower these same young kids.STATE_CORE_Mini_Kane_Coney_Island_Green_Navy_C_700x

For friends that love to cook and want to be more conscious about their impact on the world I recommend two cookbooks. First is Lure: Healthy, Sustainable Seafood Recipes from the West Coast, which is all about cooking sustainably, promoting seafood dishes sourced from sustainable sources. The second is Feed the Resistance, which not only promotes healthful cooking but also comes with great tips on how to be a more engaged activist

For someone who needs a housewarming gift or just flat out loves sleek kitchen gadgets, check out the Soma Glass Water Bottle or Water Filter! We all know someone that likes fancy new kitchen props or a young person who needs help furnishing their first apartment – look no further than this beautiful water filter that also donates to water charities with every purchasebottle-white-square-f9df0d28fdba58517a185f5e4b5cd3capitcher-square-3846079afb27cf78cc48d6778dca41e1

For that person who’s head is always cold check out Love Your Melon Knit Beanie!! I’ll probably be getting this for my dad who has shaved his head for years and despite living in Southern California is always a little chilly due to his lack of hair. The best part is Love Your Melon donates 50% of the profit from their products to non-profit partners that donate to pediatric cancer research & provide support to families with children who have cancer. As a childhood cancer survivor myself this company really stands out to me as one to support, plus kinda spooky but they were founded on my birthday October 22nd! Also, I know they started with beanies but it looks like they’ve expanded to other pieces of apparel and accessories.beanie-black-speckled-cuffed-pom-beanie-black-pom-1_grande

For your momma or momma-to-be friends and family, this reusable tote from Clare V is perfect for anything from groceries to baby gear, to workout clothes is a perfect choice. The best part is, the company donates 100% of the proceeds to their partner Every Mother Counts to help make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every woman everywhere.Screen Shot 2017-11-27 at 1.51.57 PM.png

For your city dwelling family and friends who need reusable grocery bags, look no further than the FEED bag. You guys know that I’m all for reducing food waste and doing whatever I can to start to balance out the issue of throwing millions of lbs of food out a year while millions of people don’t know where their next meal will come from. For each bag purchased, 50 school meals are donated to kids in need.

Each month features an adorable corgi from Instagram and 100% of the proceeds go to a wonderful organization for our furry friends (ASPCA)
