Homemade Banana Bread

This is the absolute opposite of a healthy version of banana bread (if you want something like that check out THIS post). This is the full fat full guilt version but holy heck it’s good you guys. I had 5 leftover aging bananas so I whipped up 2 loaves of this bread, one for a recent play date and one for the hubs as my parting V day gift before leaving town for the weekend.

It’s insanely moist on the inside but crunchy on the outside, it’s just the right amount of sweet with a hint of salt and it’s basically something you will devour in a day.

What You Need for 1 Loaf:

  • 1/2 cup butter flavored crisco

  • 1 1/4 cup sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 smashed bananas

  • 4 T sour cream

  • 1 1/2 cups flour

  • 1T baking soda

  • 1/2 t salt

  • 1 t vanilla

How To:

  1. In a large bowl combine the crisco, sugar, eggs, bananas, and sour cream. Blend with a hand mixer.

  2. Once mixed, add the rest of the ingredients and mix until smooth with just some lumps (the bananas)

  3. Add to a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 for 1 hour until a knife comes out clean.
