UNICEF Kid Power Band
When Asana & Action collide... you get this amazing event by UNICEF at the Chicago Children's Museum a few weeks ago. If you don't know about the Kid Power Band, it is essentially a step counter/watch for kids to wear (similar to a FitBit) but the special part here is that when kids wearing the Power Band reach certain step or movement goals, they unlock ready to eat therapeutic food packages for malnourished children around the world. I mean is there anything better than teaching your kid to live healthful and active life while doing good for others who are less fortunate?? I was so please to step in last minute to help teach a kids yoga class which was an absolute blast. I teach a tweens class currently once a week but haven't ever taught little ones and this class was mostly made up for 3-6 year olds and I have to say they were SO engaged. We made a lot of funny animal sounds while in Cat, Cow, Down Dog etc and as I always teach kids to remember tadasana or mountain pose as reaching your arms in the air and saying "Tada!!!" SO there was a lot of that too. See some pictures below from the class and then buy a Kid Power Band for a kid in your life! #GetActive #SaveLives
